Read with the Terms and Consumer supplement. This supplement overrides Terms 7, 9, 16 and 17 where they conflict on paid plans.

S1. Academic Pro

Academic Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription sold through Paddle. Institutional subscriptions start on confirmed payment. Consumer subscriptions start after the initial 14-day withdrawal period and confirmed payment unless the consumer separately requests an earlier start as below. The disclosed billing/service term starts at activation; delayed activation does not shorten the purchased period. Checkout states the selected Plan Version, included features, total price, billing period, renewal price and cancellation conditions. Consumer prices include applicable VAT.

The Usage Budget follows UTC calendar months. The paid increment over the free plan is prorated by covered days in the first and last calendar months; intervening months receive the full increment. A plan change preserves usage already recorded, open reservations and Purchased Top-ups.

Institutional monthly and yearly subscriptions renew for the same billing period unless cancelled before renewal. A consumer yearly subscription has a one-year initial term, then continues for an indefinite period billed monthly, cancellable at any time with at most one month's notice. The monthly continuation price must appear before the initial order. A further discounted yearly term requires the consumer's active choice.

Subject to the switching rights in Terms 14, ordinary cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, except that a consumer's indefinite continuation remains cancellable with at most one month's notice. The paid service remains available until the end date; ordinary cancellation gives no refund for unused time. Withdrawal, remedies for defects, termination for good cause and other mandatory refunds remain unaffected. A consumer's valid withdrawal after early performance is settled pro rata for service already supplied, only where the required request/information and legally and operationally supported compensation method apply; otherwise no deduction is made. The Top-up quantity formula is not automatically the subscription formula.

After Academic Pro ends, the Organization returns to free Academic and keeps its Top-up balance. The inactivity clock restarts on that end date. Active Academic Pro is exempt from inactivity freeze. A failed renewal has the agreed 14-day grace period while payment is retried; if unpaid, the subscription ends and the Organization returns to Academic. A new subscription is required after cancellation.

Monthly-to-yearly changes start immediately with the disclosed Paddle proration; yearly-to-monthly changes start at term end without a refund. A move to Commercial or a custom license normally starts at Academic Pro period end; an agreed earlier move ends Academic Pro immediately and refunds unused time through Paddle.

Consumer request for an early subscription start

You may request an early subscription start using the request below. It is optional, unchecked by default, and separate from any Top-up early-start request:

“I request that my Academic Pro subscription starts before the 14-day withdrawal period ends. I understand that, if I withdraw after it starts, I may have to pay for the service already provided, as explained in the withdrawal notice.”

Time-based compensation is explained before purchase: the price paid for the contracted service period multiplied by the proportion of that service period actually provided before withdrawal, subject to applicable law and the supported Paddle treatment. Compensation is not automatically charged by AI consumption or calculated using the Top-up quantity formula. If the required request or information is absent, or the deduction is not legally/operationally supported, no deduction is made. An early-start request alone does not waive withdrawal. Puraite retains the request, timestamp, disclosure version, activation date and contract confirmation on a durable medium.

S2. Cancellation routes

For subscriptions purchased through Paddle, use Paddle's customer portal or the manage-subscription link in your purchase email. For help or a separate Puraite contract, contact support@puraite.com, identifying the buyer and subscription. Ordinary cancellation and withdrawal are separate actions.

S3. Commercial plan

Commercial is a Direct Sale to businesses and public bodies, never consumers. Its initial term is one year and renews for another year unless either party gives notice at least three months before term end. Puraite invoices at the start of each contract year, payable within 30 days. The plan starts on the agreed contract date, independently of payment.

Invoice reminders are sent at 7 and 21 days overdue; overdue payment does not automatically end the contract. A super admin reviews escalation after 30 days overdue. Statutory termination rights and the switching/erasure process in Terms 14 remain unaffected. Switching may start during the annual term; the three-month ordinary notice rule does not delay it.

Without renewal, the Organization becomes read-only at contract end; exports remain available. Warnings are sent 30 and 7 days before that date. Archive, export and deletion follow the approved Terms and DPA. Existing consumer Top-ups retain the protection in Consumer supplement C2. A Commercial Organization can spend its existing balance but cannot buy new Top-ups in the app.

S4. Plan Versions and changed terms

For Academic Pro, worse renewal terms require express consent. Puraite announces them at least six weeks before the relevant renewal, with reminders two weeks and three days before. Without consent the subscription ends at that period's end and the Organization returns to Academic. Retiring an old version, at most 12 months after replacement, follows the same consent process. Better terms apply from the next billing period with notice.

For Commercial, worse renewal terms are announced at least three months before term end and require written agreement in a signed offer. Without agreement the contract ends at term end. Terms 17's limited minor-change mechanism does not override either rule. Existing Top-up terms are fixed.
