Puraite Newsletter · No. 2 · October 2026 Two weeks ago we asked you to tell us what is missing. You did, and many of your requests are now live in Puraite. Please take two minutes to read this issue carefully: it lists features you may have been waiting for, and it ends with two short questions where your answer really helps us. | 19 of your requests and bug reports, fixed and live | | 4× more screening decisions than in the two weeks before | | 2 new import sources: SciELO and ScienceDirect |
| See it in action | You asked, we built itPool correlations Meta-analyse Pearson correlation coefficients directly. Puraite converts them for pooling and shows the result back in R. | | Protocols for every question type Protocol generation now also works for dose-response and descriptive questions, not only for comparisons. | | | Duplicates in your PRISMA flow The PRISMA diagram now shows the correct number of duplicates removed, so the numbers add up for your paper. | | Peer review your search A PRESS step lets a colleague check your finished search strategy. The AI fills in a first draft of the checklist. | | | OHAT risk of bias The OHAT tool for environmental-health and toxicology reviews joins the risk-of-bias tools. | | Continue on any device Your project setup is saved to your account as you go. Start on your laptop and finish on another computer. | | | More import sources SciELO and ScienceDirect are now named sources and are counted separately in PRISMA. Web of Science Excel exports import too. | | Case reports and better guidance Case reports and case series are now study designs. The wizard explains why it recommends each database, and citation searching follows TARCiS. |
You also reported these, and they are fixed: copied search strings no longer include line numbers (no more zero hits in Embase), the last record in your queue no longer comes back, full titles show on conflicts, and the page no longer reloads while you read a PDF. | Smoother screeningKeep your rhythm After each decision, Puraite moves you to the next record. Focus mode hides everything except the record in front of you. | | Export what you filtered Export exactly the list of publications you have filtered, with a preview of what the Excel file will contain. | | | Clearer duplicate choices When you compare two possible duplicates, you now see volume, pages and abstract side by side, as several of you asked. | | Fix a wrong PDF match After a bulk upload, you can move a PDF that landed on the wrong record to the right one. |
Also new: notifications when text recognition, AI or export jobs finish; manual edits to trial details in Study Linking; full publication dates, not only the year; the search date recorded on each import; Ovid MEDLINE and Ovid Embase search syntax; and an Add member button on your organisation page. | Rolling out in the coming weeks- Faster batch screening: filter by author, sort by keyword matches, year or consensus, and choose which columns you see.
- Team and pilot fixes: adding external members to a team, and AI screening in a pilot round.
- A new Screening setup page that shows how a change to your settings would affect records you have already decided, before you save it.
- Supplementary files as evidence. Extraction reads your supplementary files and spreadsheets and links each value to its exact cell.

| One small favour: rename your organisation. Give your organisation its real name under My organisations. |
| Two quick questionsDo you know a public institution we could work with? For example a health technology assessment agency, a public health institute, a university hospital or a ministry that does evidence reviews. A name is enough; an introduction is even better. Suggest an institution |
